The Roto Grip Cell Pearl

The Roto Grip Cell Pearl, like the Roto Grip Cell Rogue, was bred from the original Roto Grip Cell, which won “Ball of the Year” in 2008. As with the Rogue, the Cell Pearl uses the proven Nucleus core and pairs it with a new generation in coverstocks: the Advanced Cytoplasmic X Pearl Reactive Coverstock. This combination is designed to deliver a strong, angular move on medium and lighter oil concentrations. In addition, with the Cell Pearl reliability and predictability was a major factor. To this end, the Nucleus core has been modified in the lighter versions of the Cell Pearl (the 12 and 13 pound models) and remains in its original form in the 14 to 16 pound models. ebonite-magic

The Ebonite Magic

Ebonite’s Magic line is part of a high-performance series that features the new Magic Symmetric mass bias core. This core has a peg at the top to enact a skid/flip ball reaction. The Ebonite Magic’s coverstock, FLEXOL REACTIVE, works with the Magic Symmetric mass bias core to give a long, strong performance down the entire lane. Ebonite says that the bowling ball was designed specifically for bowlers looking for reliable length and backend. The Ebonite Magic performs best on medium-heavy oil and is available in many different color combinations. Many vendors are touting the Ebonite Magic as “the strongest” ball in the entire Ebonite line, and it also has performed particularly well in product showcases when a lot of different people are using the same ball to get a feel for the experience. This indicates that the Ebonite Magic has a great deal of potential even before you leave the store with it.

columbia-power-swing

The Columbia Power Swing

The Columbia Power Swing is billed as the latest in “high-performance beauty” from Columbia 300 Bowling. This ball has a Tri-Rib asymmetric non-bias mass core that offers much higher RG (2.51) and greater differential (0.051) than Columbia’s previous core model, the Resurgence core. The Tri-Rib core, which is highly aggressive, is wrapped in NE2Maxx coverstock. The NE2Maxx coverstock is specifically designed with hook in mind and intended to give the bowler more control over the hooking action when it comes to power, rev and angle. As with most Columbia balls, the focus is always on quality and value, so the Columbia Power Swing has been built with versatility in mind. The level of control that you get with this ball is intended to enable you to bowl under many different external conditions. The Columbia Power Swing is intended to be played in medium to heavy oil. storm-second-dimension

The Storm Second Dimension

The Storm Second Dimension’s Continuum core is shaped like a distorted screw. Like many of the storm balls, the core actually stores up energy as the ball travels down the lane, then releases it later in the ball’s travels. In the case of the Storm Second Dimension, it has been touted by Storm as the “perfect complement to the original Dimension” because the original Continuum core has been wrapped in a pearlized version of the R2X Pearl with ETM (Enhanced Traction Mica) in order to provide added length and increased entry angle to the pocket on medium to light oil. Furthermore, Storm promises that if the Dimension starts to read early friction in the front of the lane and slows down too fast, the newly developed form of mica in the Second Dimension will change the surface profile of the coverstock sufficiently to create enhanced friction with the same lane surface. The Second Dimension is also apple pie scented.

hammer-black-widow-pearl

The Hammer Black Widow Pearl

The Hammer Black Widow Pearl is regularly described as both “venomous” and “deadly” thanks to its high mass bias gas mask core with a flip block and its “Violent Reactive Pearl” (reactive resin) coverstock. This combination is intended to get more length and aggression at the end of the lane under medium oil conditions. The Hammer Black Widow Pearl is designed with intimidation in mind, and the logo of a black widow stands out sharply on all of the colorstock blends and colors. The Black widow pearl has an RG of 2.500 and is intended to be easily drilled to custom perfection. This ball can be used in conjunction with any other bowling ball, but it was designed with the idea that it would be a comprehensive set when used with the original Hammer Black Widow.
