The Hammer Black Widow Bite

This ball is a real killer! The Hammer Black Widow Bite packs a punch with its Violent Bite Reactive Coverstock and High Mass Bias Gas Mask Core with Flip Block. Aggressive with a Hook Potential of 55 and a Length of 42, the ball is an attention getter both on and off the lane. Black and Silver in color and covered with a Black Widow Spider graphic, it comes in a variety of weights including 12 to 16 pounds. With its 4000 Grit Abralon Finish, the Black Widow Bite travels well down a medium to heavily oiled lane. It has a strong hook motion with a competitive back end. The few tiny pit holes in the coverstock are normal and add character to an already memorable ball. The Hammer Black Widow Bite is very similar to the original Widow with its only noticeable difference being the new and improved coverstock.

Review of the Hammer Black Widow Bite Bowling Ball

It hits like a Hammer but has more hook than the original Widow! It performs best in heavy oil but does not respond well to dry lanes. Once sanded down, it really outclasses the competition. The Black Widow Bite looks amazing and has a hook that it would take me a page to describe. I’m left-handed and drilled with the pin above the bridge. Moving to the right part of the lane helped the Bite do its job and do it well. Although it looks similar to the original Widow, the coverstock makes a noticeable difference. It reacts well to the back end but does not carry as well as some of my other balls.

A lot of people have complained that their Bites came cracked and damaged but the one I bought was flawless. I really have nothing bad to say about the ball. I use it as well as my original Widow routinely. Pleased with Hammer products in the past, I must say that these balls with a little maintenance last a really long time. I plan on playing with mine until it no longer soars down the lane at lightening quick speeds.
