The Roto Grip Cell Pearl

The Roto Grip Cell Pearl, like the Roto Grip Cell Rogue, was bred from the original Roto Grip Cell, which won “Ball of the Year” in 2008. As with the Rogue, the Cell Pearl uses the proven Nucleus core and pairs it with a new generation in coverstocks: the Advanced Cytoplasmic X Pearl Reactive Coverstock. This combination is designed to deliver a strong, angular move on medium and lighter oil concentrations. In addition, with the Cell Pearl reliability and predictability was a major factor. To this end, the Nucleus core has been modified in the lighter versions of the Cell Pearl (the 12 and 13 pound models) and remains in its original form in the 14 to 16 pound models.

Basically, if you like the original Roto Grip Cell (and really, everyone did), then you are also going to like the Roto Grip Cell Pearl. The team at Roto Grip undertook a pretty major endeavor when they tried to improve on a classic in the making like the original Cell, but they did it – and many times over – when they released the Cell Pearl. Turns out, this admittedly “pretty” ball is one of the most aggressive in my arsenal, particularly when I am working in tight lane conditions. I can get in deeper than I can with the original Cell and I get better angles as well. Oh, and the first game I bowled in league play after I got this ball I got a 277. Not too shabby for a brand new ball! Cannot wait to see what I can do once I’ve taken to practice a few times. If you are looking for versatility and a ball that will coach you along the way, then the Roto Grip Cell Pearl is the way to go.
